Diagnostics

If you already know what you need, there's no diagnostic fee. We'll quote the job and get to work.

If something's wrong and the cause isn't clear, our diagnostic fee is $125. That covers the time to properly identify the problem, including travel to you. You'll get a written estimate before we begin.

If you have us perform the repair, the $125 is credited in full toward the work, within 30 days of the diagnosis. If you'd rather take the diagnosis elsewhere, that's completely fine; the findings are yours.

If the issue turns out to be something outside what we handle, the fee still applies, since the diagnostic work was performed either way.

Appointments & cancellations

We're mobile and work by appointment, so every booking holds a slot and a drive.

Please give us 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. No charge, no hassle. Cancellations inside 24 hours, or no-shows, are subject to a $50 fee.

If parts were ordered specifically for your vehicle, you're responsible for any turnable items or restocking charges.

Overland builds

Builds require a $200 deposit to reserve your appointment, applied in full to your final invoice.

Because builds occupy a large block of our schedule, we ask for 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Deposits are refundable with that notice; inside 48 hours, the deposit is retained.

Specialty & off-site work

“Mobile” means you don't have to arrange anything, not that every repair happens at your literal address. For most jobs, that's us, at your home. For a smaller set of jobs, we still handle the whole thing; we just do part of it somewhere else.

Sublet repairs. Timing belts, major engine or transmission work, smog checks, collision, and alignments go through our partner shop. They perform the work; we remain your point of contact, and these are marked as sublet work on your invoice. Our partner backs the warranty on this work to us.

Off-site builds. For larger overland builds, such as a lift kit alongside control arms or ball joints, Jay does the work himself, just using our partner shop's bay and lift instead of your driveway. Bigger builds may take more than one day. This work carries our standard 12-month / 12,000-mile warranty, same as anything done at your home.

Either way, we pick up your vehicle and bring it back when it's done.
